The Reverend

Victoria Warren

I was born in Oklahoma and moved to a small farm town in the great San Joaquin Valley of California at the ripe old age of eleven months. We had a strong family of deep faith and ties to our church community. I received my BA from University of Notre Dame du Namur and did Master’s work in Psychology at University of Santa Clara. During my life in the Bay Area, I married, adopted my three children and worked in Human Resources in Silicon Valley. In 1982, my family and I immigrated to Carson City, where I began a career as Executive Director of the non-profit Nevada Trial Lawyers Association/now the Nevada Justice Association. In that capacity, I had administrative responsibilities for a state wide corporation plus the opportunity to work on social policy and be involved in the political process as an active legislative lobbyist. I served for a total of 28+ years – 14 regular and 14 special sessions. St. Peter’s in Carson City has been my home church for many years and sponsored and supported me through the call to ministry. I began seminary in 2002 at CDSP and graduated with a Certificate of Theological Studies in 2005. Ordination to the Diaconate occurred at diocesan annual convention in October 2008 and I was Priested in June of 2009 at St. Peter’s in Carson City.

I have served as an Associate Priest at St. Peter’s, Carson City and Christ Church, Las Vegas. Additionally, I served Internships at Holy Trinity, Fallon and Trinity, Reno. Bishop Dan Edwards appointed me as Interim Priest in Charge at St. John’s for six months effective August 1, 2011. I returned the next summer and did extensive supply work at St. John’s then accepted the call to be their regular Priest in December of 2012. I have served there ever since, retiring in the summer or 2023.

At my retirement, Bishop Gardner approved the congregation’s desire to keep a relationship with me as Rector Emerita, the first retired clergy member to have this title in the Diocese of Nevada. I am deeply honored to continue in that capacity. My husband, Ron, and I are blessed with an extensive blended family. We have 4 children and 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that all enrich our Lives.
